THANK YOU ROSE PENANG – MALAYSIA !!
Hello Lawrence & Vince …..
This is to thank you from the bottom of my heart for a great meeting and conference in Penang. The Rose Malaysia team did a fantastic job of organizing everything. It was a huge amount of work to meet everyone at the airport, book the venues, organize the food, arrange the speakers, and be on site for all the changes that happen when you have people coming from all over.
I was most impressed with how you both managed to seem so calm and cheerful throughout a very busy five days. This was a huge amount of work for you but I wanted you to know how much I appreciated that you made it possible for all of us to get together again.
Everyone I talked to agreed that the Rose International meeting and the Rose Malaysia Conference were informative and useful to their work back in Cambodia, in Australia, in Sri Lanka, in the UK, in Canada, in the USA, in Vietnam, in Guatemala, in Uganda, in Singapore, and in Pakistan. There was a feeling of solidarity and comraderie that only happens when we get together face to face. You made it happen and we’ve already experienced the benefits
* with the Singapore folks distributing lap top computers to projects in 2 continents,
* with the Hillman folks developing plans for safe child birth,
* with the Sri Lanka group identifying key themes for an early childhood education program in rural Sri Lanka,
* with everyone a little more knowledgeable about social media and why we need to promote what we do, and
* information sharing on fundraising and resources.One of my best memories is seeing you with the banner at the airport. I’ll send the picture to Will so that it can be put on the website or blog.
I arrived back in Vancouver last night and am still struggling with the time change but wanted to thank you for such as great weekend. . I hope you now have time to relax and recover.

Thank you for all that you and Vince and the Malaysia team did to make Panang such a memorable event. From the moment we arrived at the airport to flowers and welcome banner to the welcome banner at the hotel- I knew that something very special was happening and that we were being looked after by very special people. I watched how hard the Malaysian team worked all through the event- and I was so impressed and grateful.
It was such a happy and inspiring time- to meet new friends, re-meet old friends- listen to the truimphs and challenges of everyone’s projects and to come home feeling part of a warm kind amazing international family.
I indeed feel so blessed and so grateful

Dear Lawrence,
I write to extend our very great appreciation to Rose Charities Penang Members, Vince Yeoh and yourself, for the most wonderful international Rose meeting and Conference which Rose Malaysia hosted for us all last month. I can sincerely say that arrangements, venue, welcome and every other aspect were unparalleled.
Having been back home now for around a fortnight I have had a good chance to get feedback from the many groups and individuals and all say the same thing; everything was marvelous. In addition everyone, myself included, noted how incredibly hard you all worked to make the meeting a success. You really were magnificent.
Perhaps the best testimony to the meeting was that so many people have returned, energized, enthused and saying how fruitful and beneficial the meeting was. Such sentiments can only be generated in the very best of atmospheres, and that was because of the warm friendship, welcome and what you had arranged. Delegates who attended for the first time have all said that they were incredibly inspired by Rose Charities, and not least Rose Charities Penang (Malaysia).
Your choice of the Rainbow Paradise Hotel was really fist-rate. What a great venue. We were also hugely honoured by our formal meetings with His Excellency the Governor and the Penang City Secretary. And the presence of so many distinguished delegates at the opening ceremony, not least with keynote opening presentation by the Hon Phee Boun Poh � such and interesting individual a great pleasure to meet � was very much appreciated indeed.
In short, you all pulled out every stop for us all, and we are all enormously gratified and grateful. I can honestly say that because of what you have done the network will do on to expand and implement new initiatives which will benefit many more persons in need. Seeds of assistance were planted in Penang in late March 2012, which will grow into projects which will help our fellow members of this planet.
It is hard to thank you enough. You were all truly magnificent.
